Complete the opening movement and combat prompts, chop wood, and begin the trip to obtain Esme’s herbs. When Laslea opens up, you have limited daytime segments for errands before mass.
Choose what matters before spending time
Check the journal’s clock icon for time-sensitive quests and the hourglass cost before committing. The following is an editorial priority list, not a route proven to save every character:
| Priority | Action | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Early | Obtain Anca’s herbs and prepare the medicine | Complete the main household task. |
| Early if desired | Investigate Deep Down | Its missing-person outcome is time-sensitive. |
| Before night | Complete Blasphemy and report back | Speaking to Premysl alone does not finish it. |
| Optional | Stay for Page-Turner | Adds time with Anca while studying Latin. |
| During exploration | Look into Dead Drop, Enter Not and If a Tree Falls in a Forest | The cited guides report no time charge for these quests themselves. |
| Final available segment | Consider Like Father, Like Son | The guides suggest placing Pieter’s training last. |
Do not treat this table as permission to ignore on-screen costs. Extra dialogue activities, training at shrines and other commitments can spend time. See the herb instructions and Blasphemy route for those tasks.
Deadline uncertainty
PC Gamer describes reaching Lazar alive during its afternoon Deep Down route; IGN says the favorable outcome requires the first half of the day. Their accounts do not establish one reliable cutoff. Do it earlier if that outcome matters, and keep a save before time-consuming choices. The guides also disagree about incorrect medicine’s later effects.
Spoilers: leaving the village chapter
At night the story moves to Sacred Covenant at the church. Speak to the villagers if you wish, then sit with your parents to continue. Bad Blood follows: re-equip your gear in the mines, follow the route, and use the newly introduced movement and feeding prompts to escape. If you choose to help Vladimir after the mines, IGN advises finishing the fight with more than half health and responding quickly in the following conversation. His fate can change; the captured source hides a key response, so this is a warning about a consequential branch rather than a guaranteed rescue script. The chapter ends after the confrontation with Brencis, followed by Smoke and Ashes.
This page covers the opening structure and selected errands. It does not promise every optional reward or a universally best ending.
