Start with the broken sword
At the Svartrau cathedral, investigate the howling well to begin Night Terrors. The underground investigation leads into A Monk and a Saint. Find St. Mihai’s crypt, defeat him and collect the broken weapon. Read Mihai’s Journal before leaving; it explains the shards and blacksmith. A cave mural can also reveal the shard locations before you complete this route.
Retrieve the three shards

The shard order is flexible. The camp’s objective is to obtain the shard: GameSpot describes a distraction route, so killing every guard is not established as mandatory. Check the time-cost prompt before committing; its guide reports three segments for each shard attempt.
Restore and imbue
Take the pieces to the uriash blacksmith northwest of Briar Sloughs. After receiving the Restored Sword of St. Mihai, follow the blacksmith’s directions uphill to the cave behind red vines. Cut through, reach the altar and prepare for enemy waves. GameSpot reports a three-segment ritual. Completing the trial yields the Imbued Sword of St. Mihai.
If the blacksmith will not craft it
Check that you have the broken sword as well as all three shards. The official September 4 Hotfix 1.0.2 notes include a fix for the uriashi blacksmith crafting the holy sword on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Check your installed update before repeating the collection route. This does not establish that every possible quest issue is fixed.
