What the guides agree onWhat is disputedThresholds and reducing CorruptionSources & scopeThe cited launch guides describe Corruption as progression associated with vampire abilities. Both connect drinking blood with increasing it and unlocking more of the Vampirism tree.
What the guides agree on
Voracious Bite and blood supplies are reported ways to gain Corruption. Polygon specifically distinguishes blood vials that restore vampiric health from other red-looking consumables; appearance alone does not establish the effect. Its guide also reports that drinking can still increase Corruption at full health.
What is disputed
VGC says using Vampirism abilities also increases Corruption. Polygon instead describes drinking blood as the only route. We have not established which version or action explains the difference. Do not spend time repeating a non-feeding ability on the assumption it must raise this stat.
Thresholds and reducing Corruption
Polygon reports these Hastened Corruption upgrade requirements after a point in Nourishing Blood:
| Corruption level | Reported upgrade | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 30% faster Corruption gain | 1 skill point; 1 time segment |
| 4 | Overfeeding at full health; temporary health segment and 50% faster gain while overfed | 1 skill point; 1 time segment |
| 6 | 50% faster gain and 5% vampiric health per Corruption level | 2 skill points; 1 time segment |
This is the reported upgrade table for one skill, not every threshold in the system. The source does not identify its tested patch. A reliable reduction or removal method is also unconfirmed. We cannot promise that the stat has no later consequences, or offer a calculator based on guessed values.
